Hello, we are Alison and Chris Armstrong and we are delighted to be able to introduce you to the hidden treasure that is Hipperpottery homes. We want you to feel you can browse in peace and find that special something to make your home different.
The business opened in 1982 as the seconds warehouse for the then Shelf Pottery based at Hove Edge and gradually expanded to sell furniture, prints, lighting etcetera. We took over in 2003 – we escaped from London to be nearer our families and to work for ourselves. Alison trained in interior and theatre design and worked for many years at the National Theatre. I was a jobbing actor you may well have seen (but won’t remember!) in a fair few TV programmes – typically as the junior detective who burst in on the lead characters, says something like “I think we’ve found something, Guv” and is never seen again!
Now we have our own creative outlet in filling the two floors of Hipperpottery homes with a wealth of beautiful, good quality furniture, lamps, ceramics, gifts, prints, mirrors, candles and other artefacts.
